I have been running as much as I can, which sometimes isn't enough. It's been key to balance school and exercise because more often than not, the workload get overwhelming and it gets complicated to co-ordinate how much importance to give each separate entity. I have been running on average 4 km every run, with some days where I don't run or run 3 km. My approach to running has changed because at first I was trying to find out where my fitness was, but as of now I am trying to improve my time. In order to improve my running time, I have tried out interval training- where I sprint for about 300 meters and then walk for a 100 meters. Or, I would sprint for about 2 mins and walk for 30 seconds. My goal is to run 4 km in 25 minutes or lesser, but mostly been aiming for 25 minutes.
I usually run on my treadmill, which has it's positives and negatives. One of the things that I find extremely hard is my unwavering focus from the distance tally because it's right there and take up my attention. This isn't the greatest because I tend to enjoy the run lesser when I'm counting down the distance I have left, but knowing how much I have run can also be a positive influence and force me to do more. Running can get boring, and tends to do so especially when my run is confined to a treadmill. I want to change up the types of exercises I do, and include exercises that take into account my upper and mid body.
